As OpenSecrets notes, "Only a tiny fraction of Americans actually give campaign contributions to political candidates, parties or PACs. Just 0.97% of the United States population contributed more than two hundred dollars to federal candidates, PACs, parties and outside groups [last cycle]"  This is the reason campaign contributions are such an instructive tool in analyzing civil servants, because only the most avid partisans - less than one percent - write a check to a candidate.

Hosted a Panel Discussion on “Free College”

Ms. Vitez has an employment history with multiple far-left organizations.  This includes the American Association of University Professors (AAUP).  A self-styled trade association for university faculty, this organization has run interference for the furthest left-wing elements in higher ed. since at least the 1940s.

In May 2021, Ms. Vitez hosted a “webinar on free college "called “A New Deal for Higher Education.” As the date of the event makes clear, this was in the early days of the Biden administration, when Congress was attempting to construct early iterations of Biden’s “Build Back Better Agenda.”

The discussion was a plea for dramatically increased federal spending on higher education.  Ms. Vitez explicitly stated that “[w]e need to get congress to dramatically increase the spending” (7:35).  She also calls for a vaguely defined “[f]air workplace for faculty and staff” (2:02) and “[g]ood paying union jobs on campus" (30:40).

Notably, AAUP co-sponsored this event with the American Federation of Teachers.

Extensive Left-wing Postings on Social Media

Ms. Vitez has been a prolific user of social media. In so doing, she has endorsed numerous leftwing positions across many platforms.  A comprehensive examination of Ms. Vitez’s social media habits is beyond the scope of this website, but we include a sample below.
